FPC Mission Display at JuMiKo in Germany

On Sunday, January 7th, 2018, the 25th annual youth missionary conference was held at the Palais des congrès in Stuttgart. The theme: Prayer – Let God Act!

The objectives of this conference were:

  • Give information to those interested in mission work
  • Offer a platform for missionary organizations to meet prospective co-workers and collaborators

100 missionary organizations set up booths.

The FPC team, made up of Jeannot Gauggel, my wife Kathrin, and me, met at 7 in the morning to arrange our booth in the grand hall. By 8 am the first interested people arrived. We answered various questions and informed those who stopped by. Here are some excerpts of our conversations and ways in which we connected with participants:

Participant: Who are you? Were you here last year?

FPC: We have participated the past two years at JuMiKo. We are a small French mission which aims to announce the Gospel and establish churches in northeastern France. And you? What brings you here?

FPC: The work in France is a long-term endeavor. Everyone has the opportunity to try different ministries to discover their gifts. For example, in summer, we organize the camp 100% connect. Everyone can find their place, participate, and serve. Another example, we offer a FPC Pass: a program for apprentices in the service of the Sovereign.

FPC: You didn’t learn French in school? I didn’t either, but it must be learned and, when in the country, we must have patience.

FPC: To be a missionary, you don’t have to be perfect. We have a merciful God who forgives our sin and who loves to be with each human being.

FPC:  I know you! You completed a Pass for the FPC mission a few years ago. What are you doing now?

At the end of the day, we were tired but touched, by the participation of all the young people, who reflect on this investment for the Lord. We are also grateful to share in their stories and in their burdens while sharing our own: to make God known in France!

To close JuMiKo 2018, Ralf Albrecht, one of the many speakers, left the following words to the young people: “Jesus said, ‘But I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail’” (Luke 22:32). He upholds our faith as He does the mission. Everything exists by Him and for Him. Jesus saves, Jesus loves, Jesus prays. By Him, through Him and with Him the mission lives!

Let us pray together that these young adults live as His messengers and that many enter the France Pour Christ mission!
