On the schedule: many informal exchanges around well-laden tables or on the terrace, a walk around Drulingen made pleasant by the spring weather, beautiful moments of praise thanks to the talented musicians, conversations and prayers Monday evening on the veranda.
Muriel Gross was eager to encourage everyone to “read the Bible to seek profit.” She witnessed to her own personal experience as a reader and student of the Bible and gave lessons and advice. For example, reading the Bible is more beneficial if the reader focuses on the person of God rather than her own needs. It is helpful to research the context of the book being read and its place within God’s purpose. Muriel and Mary Bouix have, in this way, shown how “good” theology influences the reader’s vision of God and the Bible reading’s impact on her daily life.
This practical exercise consisted of studying in one large group, several smaller groups or alone with the Word of God, the people of Naomi in the book of Ruth and of Anne from 1 Samuel, as well as what these books reveal about God. There isn’t an impossible situation for Him, like in Naomi’s experience. In difficult circumstances that sometimes last… we continue to keep faith and do not doubt the goodness of God. What he allows makes sense and enters into His eternal plan. Like Anne, we place God first and await with confidence the answer to our prayers.
The message during this REF (2019 meeting), though certainly a classic one, seems to have been useful and profitable, according to each participant.
