The eleven women who attended this year were motivated and happy to be able to experience this enchanted interlude. One of the participants was Martine, who was invited to lead us in a time of reflection on God’s teachings, through her journey as a woman in the service of the Lord. Martine joined her husband Alain when he retired more than 10 years ago, but like many retirees, she’s very busy!
Martine emphasized the importance of listening to God and to his Spirit, of discerning what he wants to teach us in order to know him better and to be more like him. It is often the trials, illnesses, mourning and discouragement that bring us closer to God. In sharing her life’s journey, Martine testified to these difficult passages in her life with authenticity and honesty, to encourage us to trust in the Lord and to never doubt his goodness.
She offered everyone a souvenir: a ceramic heart. “Each piece is unique,” Martine said, “like each one of us, precious and unique to God.”
On Sunday morning, Simone and Priscille led us in a time of praise and gratitude to our God for all his goodness to us.
We make sure that the Women’s Team Meeting is a time of edification, renewal and relaxation for everyone, a blessed break in our often too busy daily lives. The program is intentionally flexible and light, with lots of informal time and meaningful discussions. We were outside most of the time, enjoying the beautiful weather in this green country setting.
Our only regret was that there were only a few participants, probably due to their schedules. We hope we have inspired others to join our group next year.
