Mission FPC
Dear friends,
I read a recent article that has got me thinking about the situation in which we live. The US Army War College invented a term, VUCA, to describe the world after the Cold War. This acronym stands for: Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous. It evokes a feeling of confusion. It’s clearly still relevant in describing the world today, for the people with whom we want to share the Gospel message of hope. It also accurately describes the world for missions and local churches, a world to which we must try to adapt without comprising the heart of the message.
But we have the assurance that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, toady, and forever (1)” that our heavenly father “does not change like shifting shadows (2)”, that “the word of the Lord endures forever (3)”, and that the church is built on solid foundations, “with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone (4)”. Moreover, “the words ‘once more’ indicate the removing of what can be shaken… so that what cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe (5)”.
We extend our thanks to you, our dear intercessors, donors, and valued partners! Thank you for your loyalty to us for another year despite inflation and various uncertainties. Through your ministry of prayer, generosity, and solidarity, you have contributed with us in furthering the unshakeable Kingdom of God here in France. For example, four young people were converted recently and have joined the church in Lens. Two of these young people are now involved in the FPC Pass program. The first public celebrations took place in Reims. Many students regularly attend our meetings for young people there. The church planting project in Metz has started: the team is forming, the first contacts are being established and testimonies given…
Your role is essential! We pray that the Lord will encourage you in supporting this ministry and that together we may see even more fruit to the glory of God in 2023. On behalf of the entire team at FPC, I wish you:
