The Challenge: A Life of Genuine Rest!

The three churches from the Rheims centre met on Sunday, July 2nd to worship God and listen to His word. There was plenty of opportunity for sharing and fellowship during the midday meal, the afternoon break amd some games for young and old.

The previous evening 17 young people took part in the “One Step Forward” Day which has been held each month during the past year. This final event closed with a night in tents.

He theme of the Sunday service was “Rest”, based on Matthew 11.28-30: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you [or: accept my demands] and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy [my demands are good] and my burden is light.” Those taking part were challenged to learn these verses by heart, to meditate on them and turn them into a prayer for an exciting life of discipleship which gives rest for one’s soul.

We remember in prayer those who had to stay home because of trials or illnesses they have to bear.

We are already looking forward to our next gathering and other events such as the Bible Day, a walk and if possible participating in local projects.

We were glad to benefit from the ministry of Benjamin Mathiot for the year 2023-2024. He is able to dedicate part of his time to serve the Rheims centre.
