The first arrivals from nine-thirty on were given a warm welcome by the senior citizens. Seated round coffee and cake we rediscovered old acquaintances and met new friends. From ten-thirty the technicians and worship group went into action.
Arthur Letzelter presided over the celebration, directing our thoughts toward “The God of Hope.” Each church shared how the Lord had enabled it to begin and what are the current challenges it faces.
We prayed together for one another, Nicolas explained the vision of the 55+ network and Bernhard Graessel took us through the epistle to the Romans from the perspective of the Chrisitan hope. Many thanks to the team which looked after the children throughout the morning.
Young people and adults got together for a picnic lunch, another opportunity to share with people one doesn’t get to see so often.
The Lord granted ideal weather for the diverse afternoon activities. The sportive ones tried their hand at pickleball, those who like games had their fill. The artistically inclined painted a fresco in the grass. People who enjoyed a show were entranced by André Schwab, not forgetting those who participated in a sanctified version of Lorraine coffee-chat.
This lovely spectrum of activities reflected the diversity of the Church of Jesus Christ!
