Mission FPC
For several years, the headquarters has become too small to accommodate the missionaries, their spouses and children, the associated co-workers and their families, the young people who join us for a PASS internship, and additional people who pass through all at once.
This is good news: the team is growing! 120 people participated in the meeting, which took place in the multi-purpose community building in Drulingen. We did very well there and had plenty of space for the program to run smoothly.
What a challenge to welcome and feed all these people! We would like to give a big “thank you” to the donors who provided fruit, vegetables, meat, jams, and dairy products… they made all of this possible. And, thank you to the neighboring families and the Evangelical Church of Weislingen, who welcomed and accommodated some of us as overnight guests. We have also received many clothing items for the yard sale for the enjoyment of young and old alike.
Throughout the week, the day would begin with a nurturing Bible teaching by Andrew Howes, the co-director of DMG. He turned our attention towards God, His holiness, His grandeur, His grace… We take a moment in small groups to go into deeper reflection. The young ones have a separate lesson, better suited to what they are experiencing. They are housed together at a campsite specially designed for this purpose at a private lodging in Adamswiller. After lunch, there is swimming, singing, walking, soccer or resting under a beautiful summer sun. The evening is reserved for personal conversations and prayer.
These five days are very important for the life of the mission. They give us the opportunity to reinforce our vision of God and His work, to spend time together, to help integrate new-comers, and to deepen our relationships. They help to strengthen bonds, the unity and solidarity of our team. This is truly a chance to refuel before the start of the school year!
