Escape Game at Chaumont Church on October 12th

A new idea came to the members of Chaumont Church – to organize an Escape Game.

Let’s set the scene: a dangerous virus is spreading. Those who are infected forget who they are and what they are doing. Luckily, intelligent researchers are on the brink of discovering a remedy. But, the second they are about release their findings, they themselves are contaminated by the virus. They no longer remember their identity, nor their research, let alone the padlock numbers that protect their work.

Thirty kids ages 9 to 15 came to participate, working in teams of 2 of 3 to decipher the codes and find the answer. Several tests of skill, logic, mathematics and science awaited them. They were able to handle products, color water and then make it transparent again… I will not reveal the name of the products used!!! Fortunately, a team found the remedy, and all is now back in order.

We can make a parallel between this virus and one infection that affects each and every human being: sin. Sin, which makes us forget who we are and why we’re are on the earth. Indeed, we are creatures of God, on the earth to live in relationship with Him and to know Him. Jesus is the remedy. Whoever believes in Him is vaccinated against the lethal virus.

I was happy to rely on some Escape game enthusiasts among the members of the church to make up these puzzles, to set up all the supplies and lead the game. See you all at the next “Kids” day on December 7th.
