It was in a sunny, rural setting where we had the joy of meeting in person and discussing our everyday life with the Lord and our daily concerns. The Saturday afternoon walk was an opportunity for a little sunburn but also to reflect on the joys and difficulties brought on by living in a pandemic, as well as the changes and potential blessings that have resulted from it. The evening was devoted to more personal conversation and prayer for each other.
The Biblical text that served as our central theme was Paul’s epistle to Titus. On Saturday evening everyone was able to immerse themselves in it: reading it several times, meditating on it, thinking about deeper questions. On Sunday morning we discussed in groups the excerpt Titus 2:1-8, concerning the roles of older and younger women, and the transmission of knowledge between them. This passage made us (again) realize our need to live the faith in a concrete way, so that the Word of God may be honored, and to live it collectively through the exchange of intergenerational experiences.
This meeting was a blessing for us. It only lasted 24 hours but felt like a week!
