Mission FPC
The FPC staff profited from the two days together to recall to mind, led by Philippe Brobecker, who is in charge of the Tim4 training program, the basic biblical truths they discovered at the last REM in January see the relevant blog. Then, under the guidance of Matthieu Ducrozet, we learned God wanted his children to “care for a framework favorable to the developement of life.” This time we deepened our reflection in particular by discussing the biblical episode of the Tower of Babel, which talks about human pride wanting to be “like God.”
Based on the text of the prophet Zachariah, studied by Jonathan, and Obadiah, studied by Benjamin, the team was exhorted not to reckon on their own strength, in contrast with the Edomites who imagined themselves invincible but were caught out by their own pride, nor to regard their own genuine weaknesses.
On the contrary, these passages encourage us to lean on the almighty God who equips and qualifies us for he task to which he calls us, as he did with Zerubbabel, whom God enabled to bring to fruition the difficult task of rebuilding the temple at Jerusalem. We need to maintain the requisite humility to enter into God’s plans, knowing he guarantees their success. Jesus himself was an example of humility. He assumed weakness so that we could find our place with God and draw from him the resources enabling us to carry out our mission.
The evenings were as usual given to sharing news among the team members and to prayer. Our heartfelt wish in these get-togethers is to encourage one another and to support one another in prayer.
The climax of this missionary meeting was our association’s AGM of on Saturday the 15th, at which the members were glad to come together to hear news of the FPC workers and their projects.
After a tasty lunch we parted from one another until the next AGM on Saturday the 13th April 2024.
