Mission FPC
We arrived at 7:30 am in the huge exhibition hall near the airport and made our way through all the various Christian organisations setting up their stands. At last we found the place allocated to us and set up our exhibition.
At 8:30 the first visitors start to arrive rather timidly and the first encounters begin. For many, France is a place to spend one’s vacation. Alain had prepared a little game to break the ice and to present the mission France Pour Christ as well as the spiritual needs of our country.
The crowd of participants continues to swell to the some 5000 expected each year for this event and the volume of sound in the hall increases. Some people are simply curious, others are genuinely interested. Some young people come with their parents looking for a place to serve. The FPC Pass is designed to meet their concerns. We are happy to explain to them the different facets of the Apprenticeship Course in the Lord’s service. Sometimes visitors from all age groups are looking for an opportunity to serve as an alternative investment in their professional life, seeking God’s will for the next phase in their life.
At midday Simone Müller, a former Pass, comes to give us a hand for the afternoon. During the day we meet several of our partner missions at their stand, such as the West Europe Mission, the DMG or Sahel-Life and even people who were previously missionaries with FPC😊.
At 5 pm it’s time to quickly pack up our stand and take the road for a several hour journey. Thank you, Lord, for your protection in travel!
All in all we are encouraged by the missionary interest among the Christians on the other side of the Rhine… Will the Lord send one of the other of the people we met to France for a year, or in a long-term involvement? Let us pray the Lord of the Harvest will send workers into the harvest field in France!
