During the recent American electoral campaign, I was surprised and struck by the zeal of the activists from each camp. No effort seemed too great, such as traveling many miles to set up a stand or going door to door to win an extra vote.
Isn’t this a great example to follow? Jesus won the victory through his death on the cross. Tirelessly, he desires to conquer new hearts. He does this through his Spirit, using unlikely means to convict of sin, to give a thirst for Truth and Life. Relentlessly, God calls men to repentance, not wanting the wicked to die, but to be saved1.
Every disciple is invited to announce the wonderful message of the Gospel with zeal – just like these political activists – to make every effort so that Jesus Christ is known and accepted, and to make disciples2.
It is in this spirit that our team has worked throughout the past year to develop relationships with “not yet Christians”, to invite them, tactfully and in a timely way, to be reconciled with God. Desiring to “present to God every man perfect in Christ”3, we have accompanied, taught, trained, while also exposing ourselves to the Word of God and holding ourselves accountable.
We have witnessed new births, glory to God! We have observed progress, glory to God! Like you, we have been able to persevere despite “fighting without and fear within”4, glory to God!
2024 is coming to an end. Thank you for being at our side, you are so valued! Thank you for your solidarity and generosity! We pray that the Lord encourages you in this ministry of support and that together we can see, in 2025, the Church of Jesus grow even more in maturity and number.
