The Opening of the Evangelical Church L’Eau Vive in St. Avold on Saturday, April 7th

The church began in Faulquemont in 1986. Starting in 2002, services were held in available rooms at the city hall in Saint-Avold. Little by little, the church realized that it would need its own location one day and started to set aside a monthly sum.

In 2015, for reasons of visibility, the need to find a location for service was more strongly felt. The church intensified its prayers on the subject.

In June 2016, a concrete possibility for a purchase presented itself. It was the beginning of a long road: visiting the locations by the church, meetings of discussion and prayer, consultation with partners – the banker, the lawyer, the architect – assembling the project, and carrying out administrative duties.

October 17th, 2016, the purchase was finalized, and thus began the renovation in two stages and finally a place of worship.

The first service was celebrated on November 26th, 2017. The Evangelical Church L’Eau Vive is very grateful to God, who admirably orchestrated everything so that what seemed impossible to the church became reality.

The opening took place on April 7th, 2018. Around 90 people were present: those who assisted the church in this project (the city hall of Saint-Avold, businesses …), representatives of APC et FPC, representatives of surrounding Evangelical churches, and members of L’Eau Vive. All were able to listen to the story of the church from its beginnings in Faulquemont to its entry into the new worship space. An explanation of the identity of Evangelicals and the message of the Gospel was also given.

The celebration continued with brunch, abundant and excellently presented.

The church recognizes God as the true Architect of this property: it is He who imagined and prepared this project, the church only followed.
