Mission FPC
The team members, accompanied by their families, arrived on Sunday, August 21 and left on Friday, August 26 in the afternoon. There were about a hundred of us, housed either at the FPC headquarters or by families from Drulingen and the surrounding area. Thank you to each of those hosts! Children over 8 years old and their councelors slept at the specially set up “Roth campsite 😉” in Adamswiller. After a program adapted for them in the morning, they joined the adults in Drulingen for the rest of the day.
If you follow us on social media, you will have noticed that our theme for August was “rest”. You can read Michael’s article on our blog and other articles about the mission camp on our Facebook page pertaining to this theme.
Our week had a pattern of continuity. The theme chosen for the teachings of Michel Viguier – our speaker, pastor of the Protestant Evangelical Church of Toulouse and president of the Alliance of Christian and Missionary Churches of France – was Spiritual Renewal in the areas of Trust in God , the Fullness of the Holy Spirit, Fellowship with God, Vision and Consecration.
The rest of faith begins when the Lord renews us in these different areas. We can then rest in the certainty that God is able to meet all our needs and trust Him for all the challenges we will have to face in this new school year.
⇒ In-depth exchanges and discussions with each other, so important to strengthen the ties between us and work on the cohesion of our teams;
⇒ The mix of generations: young Christians who committed to a Pass with FPC as well as several retirees, who came to celebrate with us the retirement of two misssionary couples who were in at the start of FPC: Gilles and Lydia Georgel and Pierre and Martine Fleck .
⇒ The volunteer team for meal preparation and serving: this year, yet again, we only had to put our feet under the table thanks to the dedication of Claude, Antoine, Marie-France and Anne. Starting with tartes flambées, they spoiled us every day for the renewal of our bodies;
⇒ Afternoon activities: sports, visits, swimming, football, hiking, team and outdoor games… also contributed to a beneficial disconnect before the rush of the start of the school year.
Thank you to all those who contributed to the success of this camp and thank you to God who knows so well what we need and daily gives it to us for every circumstance, with kindness and generosity.
